Beyonce twins in hospital “under the lights” after being born prematurely
Beyonce ‘s twins are being kept in hospital as a precaution after being born prematurely, sources say.
The boy and girl are said to be “under the lights” – a common treatment for jaundice, which sometimes occurs in premature babies.
Sources told TMZ the babies are expected to make a full recovery after being placed under lights to lower bilirubin in the blood to eliminate the jaundice.
It was not clear that Beyonce delivered her Bey-beys prematurely – she announced her pregnancy on February 1.
According to TMZ the twins were born on Monday in Los Angeles hospital and despite the “minor issue” the babies are expected to make a full recovery.
A source told the website: “We’re told a “minor issue” surfaced, and as a result … doctors do not feel comfortable releasing them. We do not know the nature of the issue. One source told us Beyonce also remains at the hospital, but as far as we know she’s okay. The babies are expected to be okay as well.
“It’s unclear when everyone will be released.”
The Single Ladies star, 35, and her 47-year-old rapper husband Jay Z’s twins make the Carter’s now a family of five alongside daughter Blue Ivy, 5.
“Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends,” a source told People.
