EXCLUSIVE: Sophie Ellis-Bextor hesitated about returning to Strictly for Xmas special
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has opened up about her fears about to returning to Strictly Come Dancing
Joining her will be former Strictly winners gymnast Louis Smith and sports correspondent Chris Hollins, as well as British astrologer Russell Grant.
Despite the Murder On The Dance Floor hitmaker finishing as a finalist alongside Abbey Clancy, Susanna Reid and Natalie Gumede in the last series of the dancing competition, she admits she was a bit reluctant to come back for a second stint.
Talking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Sophie, 35, said: “I didn’t see it coming to be honest! I did hesitate on saying yes because I had such a great time and thought maybe it should be done and dusted with and I didn’t want to jinx it. But then I thought maybe I’m being silly.
“The thing I do miss from Strictly was the training because I really enjoyed the learning process.”
She added: “I thought maybe I was being daft to turn down the opportunity to spend another few days in the dance studio.”

The most scary thing about saying yes was the idea of actually dancing on that dance floor again
With the Christmas special airing within a couple of weeks, Sophie admits she still feels nervous about performing on the upcoming show.
“The most scary thing about saying yes was the idea of actually dancing on that dance floor again,” she explained.
“I’ve been dancing with Aljaž Skorjanec, who won last year with Abbey Clancy. He’s lovely and very sweet. My former dance partner Brendan Cole has given us his blessing so it’s all ok.”
The-mother-of-three also revealed she hasn’t set her sights on scooping the prestigious glitter ball trophy.
“The pressure is off really and if I don’t come back a winner it’s all ok,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sophie has recently been announced as the latest ‘face and legs’ of hosiery company Pretty Polly.
Following in the footsteps of Eva Herzigová, Rachel Stevens and Jessie J, Sophie has designed and modelled the range for them.
Commenting on the collaboration, she said: “I’ve always been a fan of the brand and I love tights in particular design tights.
“I wear tights all the time so I thought it would be fun to design your own. It’s been flattering and very fun.”

The leggy music star says thanks to her good genes she plans on flashing her pins for as long as possible.
“I don’t mind getting my pins out really! I took my leaf out from my granny Cybil because she’s got exactly the same legs as me.
“She’s going to be 87 and I have definitely inherited a lot from her. If it’s ok for Cybil Bextor then it’s ok for me.”
