Five things you didn’t know about Strictly Come Dancing beauty Sunetra Sarker
She’s currently in Strictly Come Dancing but there’s some things you don’t know about Sunetra Sarker
The mother-of-one has put up a fight for her place on the BBC’s primetime show for several weeks and is making a name for herself on the dance floor.
But she’s not all rumba and no rhythm – we take a look at five things you didn’t know about Sunetra – and there’s a few surprises in there!
She’s not new to celebrity talent shows.
She may appear nervous occasionally on Strictly Come Dancing but the BBC show is actually Sunetra’s third celebrity-based TV competition.
The 41-year-old has also appeared on Celebrity Masterchef (2007) and Pointless Celebrities as part of a ‘medical’ team alongside actors Ian Bleasdale and Duncan Preston.
She also took part in Big Star’s Little Star with her nine year-old son Noah in May.
The actress has been taking to the dance floor for weeks on the BBC show
It looks like she’s made friends for life with the other contestants
Her son convinced her to take part in Strictly.
Sunetra wasn’t keen on taking part in Strictly Come Dancing to begin with but was pushed to take part in the show but her little boy.
Speaking before the show began, Sunetra said: “I said to my son Noah, that they asked me to do Strictly Come Dancing and he said excitedly, ‘Are you going to do it?’
“Still it was no because I said, ‘You won’t see me at the weekends – that’s our special time. Do you really want me to do this?’
“He said yes, it would be so good, that he’d love to see me dancing on a Saturday night.”
Her big acting break was in the 1980s.
She might be best know for her turn in Casualty or even No Angels for most, but Sunetra actually got her big break in the late 80s.
The actress initially found success when she was cast as Nisha Batra in Channel 4 soap Brookside.
She played the character for two years, from 1988 – 1990, and then returned for three years in 2000.

Friends in high places! The star posed for a snap with Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul
She’s not just a pretty face.
While most fans know Sunetra as a talented and well-respected actress, that’s not the Liverpudlian’s only talent.
The mother-of-one has a degree in French and Information Systems for Business in Europe from Brunel University.
Finally, she’s not the only A-lister in town.
She might be a celebrity herself but Sunetra has friends in high places. The pretty Casualty star jokingly complained she was being ‘hassled’ by Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul on Twitter earlier this year.
From the picture she posted with the comments it looks like the pair were getting on brilliantly. The star’s comment reads: “What? Oh him yeah… Stop hassling me Aaron #everyonesawinner”
We’ve got our fingers crossed for talented Sunetra’s SCD career.
