I’m A Celebrity 2014: Tim Westwood turned down jungle offer but reveals ‘the money was so crazy’
TIM Westwood turned down his opportunity to take part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! 2014 despite being offered “crazy money”.
The 57-year-old DJ was approached by ITV show bosses but declined the offer because he said he would “need to get down to the gym” beforehand.
Talking at Global’s Make Some Noise Night on Thursday, the Capital Xtra host said: “They asked me to go into the jungle to do I’m A Celebrity but I said no because I need to get down to the gym.
“I think I would come out of the jungle super skinnier than I am now.
“The money was so crazy, the money was so crazy, that’s why I took them seriously.”
Tim opened up about past and present contestants and said would’ve loved to have been in the jungle with TOWIE star Gemma Collins – who left the show after four days.
“I watched the first challenge of Tinchy Stryder today, I watched it this morning and I thought, he’s playing it too cool man,” he continued.
“I would have loved to have been in there with Gemma.”
Despite saying no this time round, Tim remained open to the idea and teased an appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! 2015.
He said: “I’m not afraid of anything, with spiders you’ve just got to leave them alone, but I wouldn’t want to get up in the mix, I wouldn’t like it. But hey, the money was so good. Maybe next year.”
