Jason Priestley has claimed he punched Harvey Weinstein in the face at a Golden Globes party in 1995.

The former Beverly Hills 90210 actor, 48, took to Twitter on Friday to address the alleged incident after actress Tara Strong first recalled it.

Tara, 44, suggested that the shamed movie mogul might have tried to get the actor blacklisted following what happened at the party.

In response to a fan who asked if he could elaborate on Tara’s story, he tweeted: “Harvey told me I had to leave… I was leaving when he grabbed me by the arm and said ‘What are you doing? ‘I said ‘You told me leave, I’m leaving.’

“‘I didn’t say you had to leave’ he replied. ‘You just told me to leave… right over there’ I tell him once again.”

The actor went on: “Getting heated now. He then grabs me tighter and says ‘Why don’t we go outside and talk about this’. That was all I needed to hear.

“I’m not going anywhere with you,’ I said as I pushed him back and punched him with a right hand to his face. Suddenly, there were security guards pulling us apart and I was escorted out of the party…”

Jason didn’t elaborate any further or confirm or deny if Weinstein took any further action.

His comments come after Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson claimed he dropped actresses Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino from the casting list of the blockbuster franchise because Weinstein said they were ‘a nightmare to work with.’

Weinstein later denied the claims, insisting he had “no input into the casting whatsoever,” but Jackson alleged that the movie mogul launched a ‘smear campaign’ against the women – who have both since accused Weinstein of sexual harrassment.
