The X Factor 2014: Is Ben Haenow the new favourite?
THIS week’s X Factor seemed to belong to Ben Haenow.
Each contestant had to sing two songs this week, one chosen by a popstar and one chosen by the public.
The van driver earned high-praise from the judges for both his performances. The 29-year-old had his song chosen by non other than One Direction. They chose the classic Beatles song Come Together.
After all the acts had performed their songs, Simon Cowell said that the round belonged to Ben.
But it was his second song that really got the judges riled up.
After belting out Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, Louis Walsh said he was the one to watch and could win the show.
And it seemed that the audience was on his side. After Mel B complained he didn’t give the song enough “light and shade” the audience booed so loudly the rest of her comments were drowned out.
Currently favourite to win the show is Fleur East, her odds stand at 10/11.
And currently favourite to be voted out in tomorrow night’s results show is 17-year-old Lauren Platt.
Both her performances earned mix reviews with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini defending her saying she had been suffering with her throat and had previously lost her voice.
