VIDEO: We’re in Chains! Aussie superstar Tina Arena tells us about her big comeback
STILL SEXY: Tina Arena is back to wrap us all in Chains
Chains is still one of my favourite songs of all time.
That voice sends shivers up my spine – and 20 years later continues to blow live audiences away.
Tina Arena can still belt out a big standard with the best of them but hasn’t been to the UK for over a decade. So I leapt at the chance to see her at an intimate showcase in North London.
Tina flew in to promote her new album Reset – her first full release in English in 11 years (she’s sold 5 million records in France, don’t you know).
A teeny, tiny figure in a black glittering catsuit, she blasted off the roof with a voice that remains as powerful and rich as ever.
I also grabbed the Aussie superstar before the show for a quick chinwag.

In casual clothes but with giant show hair “so they can see me at the back” already done, she talked about outselling Kylie back home, being knighted by the Nicolas Sarkozy (but no castle, sadly) and a lifelong obsession with Brit funnymen Stephen Fry “my hero”, Graham Norton and Alan Carr.
I tried to persuade her to date Prince William to get a proper castle but she was having none of it.
Twenty years and ten million records lady, she’s still one classy lady.
Check out the video for her new single from Reset, You Set Fire To My Life next.
And, as if we needed any reason to relive the glory of Chains, here it is.
